Nestled in the heart of the Mornington Peninsula, Ashcombe is a place where nature and imagination entwine. Across 25 acres of woodland and gardens, mazes twist and bloom, lavender perfumes the air, and every season brings its own enchantment.

The Hedge Maze
Australia’s oldest and most famous hedge maze rises more than three metres high, its walls clipped into curving green corridors. Planted with over a thousand cypress trees, the maze is a living sculpture—dense, thick, and impossible to cheat. Each turn is a challenge, each pathway a playful mystery waiting to be solved.

The Lavender Labyrinth
Rows of lavender bloom year-round, more than 3,000 plants stretching toward the Arboretum. From the centre, the view is a sea of purple waves, fragrant and calming. Display gardens showcase over forty varieties, telling the story of lavender through colour, scent, and history.

Gardens & Discovery
Circular rose mazes, lily ponds, and shaded forest walks invite wandering. The Garden Discovery Trail leads through woodland and open lawns, where native birds flit and small wildlife stirs. Families delight in the whimsical Gnome and Fairy Hunt, children explore the timber playground, and wide lawns host games of giant Jenga, bocce, and quoits.

A Place for All
Couples find quiet corners among bridges and ponds, perfect for photographs and moments of stillness. Groups linger in shaded picnic areas, sharing food and laughter. The licensed café serves artisan pies, lavender ice cream, and classic fish and chips, making the gardens a place to taste as well as to see.
Seasonal Magic
Summer brings golden light across the hedges, autumn paints the woodland in fire, winter mists soften the labyrinth, and spring bursts with blossoms. Whatever the season, Ashcombe inspires connection, adventure, and wonder.
